Hello I am Rikita Samanta was student in ABS ACADEMY in the batch of 2019 - 2020. I have completed my BHM Course there itself. I am currently working as a Senior Executive – Human Resources in Nephro Care India Ltd. Experienced in recruitment, employee engagement, and HR operations. Passionate about talent management and building a positive workplace culture while contributing to organizational growth. I sincerely thank ABS ACADEMY for providing the guidance, learning environment, and opportunities that helped me grow both personally and professionally. My name is Debabrata Singha, and I am proud to be a former student of ABS Academy of Polytechnic, Durgapur. Looking back, my journey at the college has been one of the most important and memorable chapters of my life. I feel especially proud to have been among the first batch of Mining Engineering students at ABS Academy of Polytechnic. When the Mining Engineering department began, there were only four students—Debabrata Singha, Sk. Saheb, Braj Gopal Mandal, and Surjit Mann. Today, it is wonderful to see the department growing, with many more students choosing to pursue Mining Engineering at the institution. My first day at college is still a special memory. After finishing school, I was both nervous and excited to begin a new journey. As I entered the campus, I felt a new sense of freedom, confidence, and opportunity. The college environment was very different from school. We had access to a large playground, canteen facilities, a well-equipped library with books related to the Mining Engineering syllabus, and practical learning opportunities with mining instruments and equipment. What made my journey even more meaningful was the guidance and support of our faculty members. Their teaching, experience, and practical knowledge helped us understand not only the academic subjects but also the responsibilities of working in the mining industry. I am especially grateful to Mr. Swapan Sadhu Sir and my respected and favourite teacher, Mr. Prabal Das Sir, HOD, whose guidance and encouragement played an important role throughout my three-year journey. Life at ABS Academy was not limited to academics. The college also gave us opportunities to participate in cultural programmes, sports events, and other activities, helping us grow with confidence and teamwork. After completing my education, I was fortunate to begin my professional journey as a Mining Sirdar with the West Bengal Power Development Corporation Limited (WBPDCL), a Government of West Bengal enterprise. I have been posted at the Gangaramchak and Gangaramchak-Bhadulia Coal Mines in Birbhum district. In my professional life, I continue to learn about the duties and responsibilities of a Mining Sirdar, including mine supervision, safety protocols, and leadership, with the guidance of my seniors and officers. My journey from being one of the first four students in the Mining Engineering department to working in the mining industry has taught me that every successful career begins with the courage to take the first step. To all the new students joining Mining Engineering at ABS Academy of Polytechnic, I would like to say: “If I can achieve my dream, you can achieve yours too. Believe in yourself, work hard, keep learning, and never be afraid to begin.” I wish all the new Mining Engineering students a bright and successful future. Finally, I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to Mr. Prabal Das Sir for giving me his valuable time, guidance, support, and encouragement throughout my three years at ABS Academy of Polytechnic. Thank you, ABS Academy, for being an important part of my journey and helping me take my first steps towards a successful career.

Entering ABS Academy of Polytechnic felt overwhelming at first, but it quickly became home. The campus is a great mix of academic focus and vibrant student life. As a Civil Engineering student, I spend a lot of time in the library, but I make sure to balance it by attending departmental fests and industry-related seminars. The diversity of people here has really broadened my perspective. "The Civil Department at my college is fantastic—it feels like a close-knit family rather than just a department. The professors are knowledgeable, and many have field experience, which they bring into the classroom via case studies. They are strict about concepts but always willing to guide us. Our laboratories (Concrete, Survey, Transportation, and Geotechnical) are well-equipped. Learning to use industry-standard software like AutoCAD has been a game-changer. It is not just about rote learning; the focus has shifted heavily toward practical application through hands-on lab work and site visits.

As a ABS Academy of Polytechnic alumni, I would say the college has some strengths points below - Good faculty with proper knowledge and communication skills - Decent infrastructure, including labs and libraries. - Opportunities for industrial visits and internships. - Placement record is average likes L&T, EPL,BANCO,RAL, EXIDE BATTERY etc.. - Affordable fees compared to other colleges in Durgapur Overall, ABS academy of Polytechnic is a decent option for students looking for an affordable education in Durgapur.
